Though it’s hard to believe, if you are looking for a great place to eat dinner in Danbury, CT, you will find at least 18 significant restaurants within a couple of miles. Located on one of the areas major north-south interstates – Rt. 84 – the restaurant's cluster and offer cuisines for everyone. Indeed, the top 5 restaurants are within this area.

If you are looking for a great Italian feast, then you have to try Stanziatos. A popular, mid-priced hostelry, it features contemporary Italian cuisine. Located on Lake Avenue Extension, you’ll find the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Very popular, you will see their fare is highly rated. Call ahead if you would like a reservation.  Growing up in Danbury my family always had to wait in line to get a bite to eat.

Changing cuisines entirely, you will find the next stop in our tour is a fine sought-after Vietnamese eatery. Pho Vietnam is one of the top restaurants in the city. Another moderately priced dining spot, it is open for lunch and dinner. It’s not far from our other stops on a tour of this city’s best eateries. Again, if you are planning to go, it’s best to call ahead. It’s on Padanaram Road.

Staying with Asian cuisine, we come to number three on the list, Ki Asian Bistro, and Sushi. Featuring Japanese dining, Ki Asian is another moderately priced restaurant. It is open in two seatings, lunch and later dinner. It is the only one of our top restaurants that has two different sittings. Lunch is from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and dinner is from 5 to 10:30. It is on Eagle Road.

If you are in the mood for tapas, Danbury’s restaurant scene won’t disappoint as it features the Mezan Tapas Bar and Restaurant. Moderately priced, Mezan is, as its name implies, a tapas restaurant where you try a bit of this and that as you eat and converse with your friends. Located on Mill Plan Road, it also features a standard restaurant side where you can find a more standard Latin American menu. It is open for lunch and dinner, and while you can head over there, you are probably best served to call ahead for reservations.

Rounding out our top five dining spots we have the Market Place Kitchen and Bar. A traditional American restaurant, you’ll find it is open for an early lunch or a late dinner as its hours is 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. This is the spot where you will find standard American fare. You’ll see that it is just up the street from Staziatos, by a funny coincidence.

Some consider Danbury, CT. to be the northernmost segment of New York City. The city sits just 39 miles north of New York City in Fairfield County.
